Painting Update

I was given an opportunity to create a painting for one of my dearest childhood friend’s father. The creative license was left up to me, after several months (actually almost a whole year)  I am finally revealing my near complete painting!

Love What You Do: Do What You Love

I started work with Modern In Denver magazine in December 2010.. and I couldn’t be happier. The saying: “Love what you do, do what you love” has finally resonated with me.. It seems like everything that I have been working towards in higher education (history, design, strategy & theory, media, communication, space, community, sustainism) is all tied up into MID.  I am honored to be working with William Logan, the main publisher and along side those who contribute to the magazine’s exceptional content – writers, photographers, advertisers and production. Best of all, Modern In Denver is about supporting the local creative community – we care about the historic neighborhoods, emerging and established artisans, and about informing and inspiring our readers about whats happening in Denver. We are a young publication, just 2 1/2 years old, but we’re like a reincarnation of an old master. We have a lot of stories to tell, so if you haven’t yet, grab a magazine, visit the website and join in the conversation on Facebook. You never know what it could bring. So, long story short – Bailey is still in school but getting her feet wet in the world of publication – and boy, it sure is a splash!

Animated Metaphor – Early Bird Gets the Worm

Animated Metaphor created for MSCD Concepts in Motion. As per the assignment: “MORE ON METAPHORS: Metaphors are more efficient and economical than ordinary language; they give maximum meaning with a minimum of words. By writing “my dorm is a prison,” you suggest to your readers that you feel as though you were placed in solitary, you are fed lousy food, you are deprived of all of life’s great pleasures, your room is poorly lit and cramped–and a hundred other things, that, if you tried to say them all, would probably take several pages.”

The metaphor animation was created in Flash CS5 with Actionscript 3.0. See the movie here.

adding a personal touch to basic contract form

I have been working on new forms templates for BAF creative – contracts, proposals, letters of interest, pricing estimation tools, ect…. I keep coming back to the idea of incorporating some sort of universal purpose tab that would help indicate what the form was for. My intention was for the tabs to be formal yet have personal approach and at times add a humorous level. Check it out.
